On Friday 24th November I'm taking part in a wonderful community campaign called, 'Indie Friday'. It's been set up by the incredible Just A Card team to encourage Christmas shoppers to support and shop in small, independent businesses and take the black out of 'Black Friday'. In other words, it's all about skipping the queues at those big retail stores over the Black Friday shopping weekend, and instead, either popping your hand knitted scarf on and heading to your local independent store or putting your slippers on, making a brew and shopping at all the incredible online independent shops there are online, all from the comfort of your armchair.
There are so many wonderful independent online stores, local shops and galleries out there in your nearest town or city, so do pop your creative hat on this Friday and throughout the weekend and go support the small fish because without them, the world would be a very dull and indeed a very black place to be and no one wants that.
If you're not quite sure where to start online, here are a selection some of my many favourite independent shops.
You could also take a look at my local Somerset Etsy Team too, which is bursting with beautiful handmade gifts! And, the lovely Jayne from 'Jayne Kitsch' has put together a fab selection of her favourite indie businesses that currently have discount offers on this weekend, including yours truly!
Across my online stores you'll find offers in my Etsy and NOTHS shops and also a special 15% off in my website shop from today until midnight on Monday 27th November. Simply enter, INDIEFRIDAY at checkout.
Happy independent shopping folks and thank you for supporting small businesses like mine, you rock!
