What's on the jukebox, Jo?

Adventures & Tea Parties blog

Hurrah, we did it! We made to the end of the first week back, phew! Ok, so I have to admit something. I actually started work on Monday but that's only because I had a load of lovely orders to send out, which isn't too bad a reason for returning to work early, is it?!

Despite being full of cold (HELLO lemon and ginger tea recipe, which I shared here), I managed to get my studio ship-shape, stock ordered and started work on my January goals (you can read my 2017 goals here).

My goals this month are all about research and Valentine's Day. I'm doing a tonne of research on converting this blog into a website, which will include my very own online shop. I'm so excited about the idea I have for it that it's actually off the scale excitement. *Someone needs to calm down a bit.* Actually, that's rubbish, I should totally be excited about it because that's the point, right? I'm also investigating drawing tablets to use in conjunction with Photoshop or Illustrator. The jury's still out on that but I've just been offered the chance to try out a Wacom Bamboo tablet, which is great as I really want to try before I buy and not end up making an expensive mistake. If you have any tips or suggestions, I'd really love to hear from you, so please do leave a comment below or come find me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

As well as technical research, I've been reviewing my shop packaging and finding out from you lovely lot what you look for in gift wrapping. In other words, should I or should't I offer gift wrap in my shop and what do you like about shop packaging? So far it seems that you guys mostly like gift wrap as an option and you especially like pretty packaging with a little hand written "thank you" note, a special discount code and of course, freebies, like stickers!

The absolute highlight of the week has to be this wonderful review I received for a customised version of the Personalised Dog Neckerchief. It totally made me do a happy dance and get the highlighter pen all over my plan to make more pet accessories. Yay!

As ever, motivating me through my working week is sweet, sweet music and I've been awash with it this week! My mate sent me several epic playlists on Spotify, so I've been working my way through those. So many good songs, so many favourites but a few I've definitely had on repeat are these numbers:

Black Betty by Ram Jam
Sugar Man by Rodriguez
Have You Ever Seen The Rain? by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd
All Around My Hat by Steeleye Span
Jolene by Dolly Parton

Pop them on, have a listen, have a sing-along and hell, why not have a dance around the living room! Go on, you know you want to. Kick those slippers off and dance!
